I'm new to the DJ world…

Long time ago, maybe late 80's early 90's I used to play music at small family functions. All i had was a dual cassette player and a walkman to cue the next song! Fastforward to 2010. I had an epiphany… I've always been the designated music/sound guy, so why am i not DJing ~ soooo… I invested in equipment and the rest is history!!!! Since I am fresh i'm soaking in any tips and advice i can, so feel free to share your knowledge with me!!!!!
